Focus And Scope

HURMAH: Islamic Journal of Human Rights is a peer-reviewed. The focus and scope of this journal encompass interdisciplinary research on human rights through an Islamic lens, emphasizing the integration of Sharia principles with universal human rights frameworks. The scope of research includes, but is not limited to, Theological and Philosophical Studies of Human Rights in Islam (Maqasid al-Shariah & Hurmah), Islamic Family Law and the Protection of Women & Children, Freedom of Religion and Belief in Muslim Contexts, and Social and Economic Justice from an Islamic Perspective. In addition, this journal also accepts studies on Minorities and Vulnerable Groups in Muslim Societies, Bioethics and Public Health Issues in Islam, the Right to Development and the Environment, and Comparative Studies between Islamic Law and International Human Rights Law.
